The winter season is upon us and we are always looking to grow our awesome base of volunteer Program Assistants!  We are currently taking names for those interested in being a PA (program assistant) for our 2018 - 2019 CanSkate Season, running from October 2018 to mid-March 2019.

In order to apply to be a PA you must have no less than 5 years of skating/sport related experience and be in Grade 6 or higher as of September 2018.
 

QUALITIES OF A GREAT PROGRAM ASSISTANT:

• Good communicator and demonstrator

• Team player and a good role model

• Responsible and organized

• Punctual

• Enthusiastic

• Patient

YOUR DUTIES AS A PROGRAM ASSISTANT WILL BE:

1. Assist the coaching team with CanSkaters at all levels.

2. Enhance program delivery.

3. Help skaters on and off the ice, and clean up the ice.

4. Help with name tags.

5. Watch for safety (close doors, holes, skate laces, etc.).

6. Supervise your group.

7. Lead your group from station to station.

8. Help with leading warm-up, group activity and cool-down.

9. Demonstrate skills.

10. Be a role model for the skaters.

And most importantly, to spread the joy of Skating!
